Frank Reynolds (Grandfather of Joanne Watson (ne Birley )) father William Reynolds was married to Harriett Brewin. The Brewin family line goes up through Joseph Brewin to Thomas Brewin and then to William Brewin who was born in 1739. William married Sarah Arnold and they had at least 8 children. William & Sarah were both born in Loughborough as were their children. Their daughter Elizabeth, born 20th Feb 1777 married Samuel Ackroyd on 5th December 1799 in Quorn, Leicestershire. The first census record for both of them is in 1841 and both Samuel & Elizabeth are stated as being 60 and living in Barrow Gate, Quorn with 2 of their daughters – Elizabeth, 35 (born 1804) & Ann, 20 ( born 1817 ). In the 1851 census the family still together, were now living in Quorn Road.

Samuel was a Net Maker, Elizabeth a Dress Maker and Ann a Bonnet Maker

Samuel & Elizabeth had 6 children in total Samuel, Sarah, Elizabeth, William, John, Joshua & Ann.

William Married Ann Orm and are buried in St Bartholomew’s Church Quorn

John Married Ann Squire, Ann and her child Charles are also buried in Quorn Church.

The street names in the 1841 & 1851 Census are sometimes different and have changed over the years. Barrow Gate is in the Station Road area of Quorn and also included Meynell Road. Quorn Road was an area of Loughborough Road by Barrow Road.
